Why So Much Lying?

The Human Line Project appears to be built largely on lies. They lie about the for profit nature of their business. They lie about who the real founder is. And they lie about the circumstances of the “AI delusions.”

Now, they’ve added another one in their latest article:

“A lot of people start with a great life, great job, everything’s perfect, and a year later, after an AI psychosis, they’re homeless, divorced, they don’t see their children, they’ve spent all their savings, and have nothing left.”

If that were true, it would certainly be a strong point for their legal case! However, I think I’ve ready nearly every article about AI psychosis and I can’t recall even one story that started out with a person whose life was perfect. Allan’s own life was far from perfect, as even his chatbot told him:

Many other Human Line Project members fell into their spirals when discussing deep childhood traumas with their chatbot – another clue that life is far from perfect.

If a person is completely fulfilled, happy and healed they wouldn’t ever turn to the chatbot in the first place. They went there because something was missing in their life. Pretending that isn’t true is just lying to yourself. And if for some reason, that fills you with an overwhelming shame, that suggests to me that you still have deep work to do in order to come to true self acceptance and self love.

As long as you refuse to accept the truth about yourself, you will stay confined in a mental prison. No amount of being quoted in the press or viewed as an expert will change that internal reality.
