Etienne Brisson published an essay this week in the Journal of Canadian Consciousness recounting the origins of The Human Line Project. However, his own story contradicts the origin dates of The Human Line Project. He has also failed to account for the many other discrepancies I’ve pointed out, including the impeccable English used by the reddit account (something I have never seen Brisson display, including in this essay).
…my life changed on March 20, 2025… I was coaching when I looked at my phone and saw a text message from my uncle: “Bro, what I am living is out of this world, real sci-fi.”
…A couple of days later, I was training people, painting a house, when I received a call from my mother. She was crying.
…I knew I could not do nothing. I continued my research, every night, searching for how to help someone actively in psychosis. I finally found something, something that would later become a pillar of how we support people in The Human Line. I found the LEAP method.
On March 22, he started searching ever night and finally found something…how many nights? Let’s conservatively say only two.
(March 24?) So, for the next few days, I followed exactly this method. I listened to him telling me about Aliss….I asked questions; I stayed present with him. I had to, to keep the bridge. I could not let him fall completely into this alternate reality.
This went on for days, until we realized just how bad it was getting…
He doesn’t say how many days, just makes it plural. Again, let’s conservatively say only two days.
(March 26?) – We decided to escalate it, knowing we could not wait longer. We got a court order, resulting in an involuntary hospitalization… The judge agreed with us, even if he was really confused by it all, and decided to have him committed for twenty-one days.
So, in the quickest timeline possible given Brisson’s narration, May 27th would be the first day his uncle was fully committed.
Fortunately, my uncle accepted the treatment. He spent the full twenty-one days in treatment and slowly, the illusion started to disappear; he came back to us.
Mid – April 2025 – His uncle returns home.
I could finally breathe again. Uncle Denis was finally okay. I took some time to spend with our family, to go back to our normal life. But one thought stayed in the back of my mind. I could not shake it off. What about the other one billion users? There is no way we could be the only one in the world experiencing this right? I went down another rabbit hole…
Brisson claims he did not pursue The Human Line project until after his Uncle’s release from the hospital. By his timeline that would have been mid-April, yet by April 5, 2025, The Human Line Project had created 3 accounts: Reddit, Instagram and the domain: www.thehumanlineproject.org.
Original Reddit Account
Created on March 25, 2025, it immediately began asking about potential to sue OpenAI for emotional harm (not psychological harm).

While reddit itself doesn’t date posts, clicking through the NFL thread shows the story was published on March 28. So, it is likely that nearly all these posts above were made between March 25-28, 2025.
A few friends and I have decided to do something about it, to draw the line between these technological threats and that which makes us human; we did this by founding a new organization, The Human Line Project, dedicated to safeguarding our lives and communities against the unwanted effects of ever-more powerful forms of machine intelligence.
Did one of Brisson’s “few friends” initially create those accounts? If so, who? And why hide it?
